"Win Points for McCain!"

As if we didn't already know that this site was crawling with McTrolls.

Spread John McCain's official talking points around the Web -- and you could win valuable prizes!
That, in essence, is the McCain campaign's pitch to supporters to join its new online effort, one that combines the features of "AstroTurf" campaigning with the sort of customer-loyalty programs offered by airlines, hotel chains, restaurants and the occasional daily newspaper.
On McCain's Web site, visitors are invited to "Spread the Word" about the presumptive Republican nominee by sending campaign-supplied comments to blogs and Web sites under the visitor's screen name. The site offers sample comments ("John McCain has a comprehensive economic plan . . .") and a list of dozens of suggested destinations, conveniently broken down into "conservative," "liberal," "moderate" and "other" categories. Just cut and paste.

It gets better:

People who sign up for McCain's program receive reward points each time they place a favorable comment on one of the listed Web sites (subject to verification by McCain's webmasters). The points can be traded for prizes, such as books autographed by McCain, preferred seating at campaign events, even a ride with the candidate on his bus, known as the Straight Talk Express, according to campaign spokesman Brian Rogers.

And the cherry?

Yeah, what's going on with that? Someone mentioned it earlier, but I don't know what happened.

The banhammer (2.00 / 1)

rained mighty blows upon the head of kingsbridge77, one of Catfish2's trolling diaries got the yank, and miker2008 has been complaining about some of his diaries getting yanked as well (I don't know what diaries but apparently they were defenses of NoKKKwarter).

Re: "Win Points for McCain!" (2.00 / 1)

Not sure on any details, just grapevine stuff, but it looks like a diary or two got deleted, a catfish2 diary(didn't even see that one) and I think the Kingsbridge "I am about to be banned from DKos" diary.  I don't see it today. Man the comment thread in the latter was super nasty, I mean real nasty.  I didn't comment it was out of control.  Good people yelling at each other, mainly about KO-countdown and DKos.  one has a right to not watch or even like a teevee pundit, but they were giving it prety hard to KO, the only guy on the networks calling out Bush Admin and Republican hipocracy and criminality everyday.  For that I'll let him slide, he is not perfect, and bonus, he also frequently invovles the wonderful Rachel Maddow, a blessing for her refreshing and realistic political analysis.
But like I said, to each their own.

McCain's "Campaign" has got to be the worst case of suicide I've ever seen.

Top prize: Winner gets to sit next to Grampy on the porch swing watching Obama's inauguration on a new-fangled B&W TeeVee.
