shame the teflon will wear off come the general.
but kudos on showing the same arrogance that your candidate displays.
you may not think this stuff as hurt him but you are wrong.
so, why do you think the teflon will wear off?
Yes, the teflon will wear off. Quickly. Obama supporters who mistake Clinton's polite campaign for "scorched earth" will be in for a big surprise if Obama is the nominee. McCain can benefit from running Wright videos. Clinton can't.
I see you don't understand. he IS teflon . . . hence, Teflon man
It was not very polite to call Obama an elitist.
Obama spoke the truth about small town Pennsylvanians-- namely, that many are bitter because their jobs have gone away. The fact that what he said may have been taken -- because of ill phrasing -- as an inpolite description of a realistic phenomenon should not be something about which Democrats attack each other over. If you care about furthering progressive ideals you need to be quite careful about personal attacks such as painting our likely nominee as an elitist -- even if you think its true -- because Republicans will use this against us in the Fall. Last election we had Kerry as our nominee-- a candidate who much more easily was characterized as an elitist -- and we Democrats didn't say a peep in support of such characterizations. Lets not do the Republican's work for them.
This is a campaign - not a tea party. Still, there are standards, and Clinton has abided by them.
When people like Leahy called on Hillary to drop out b/c of the fact that she had little chance to win, her supporters said "What's the harm in letting her stay in, it will only energize the base". I agreed, as long as the campaign did not devolve into a series of personal attacks that would weaken our chances in Nov. Now I fear Hillary has seen that she is unable to win the contest on the basis of issues and has taken to disparaging Obama personally as an elitist. By ANY standard, this win-at-all-costs approach will weaken Obama if he becomes our nominee-- which, in all likelihood he will. If only Republicans attacked Obama as an elitist, Democrats and many Independents could dismiss it as a partisan attack. With one of the leading Democrats saying he is an elitist there is a real potential for some Dems and Indies to believe its true. No person who wants to see progressive ideals furthered should countenance this type of personal attack against our likely nominee. Lets keep the campaign focused on the issues and not paint charicatures of fellow Dems that the Republicans can use against us in the fall.
As they will on Hillary. With more material to work from.
Hillary could just as easily be characterized as the velcro woman to which everything sticks--albeit unfairly -- bringing her negatives to extremely high levels. I'd rather take my chances with the guy who thus far has been able to avoid any major damage from campaign flare ups.
Obama did not call Pennsylvanians bitter. He suggested that it is not surprising that a certain subset of Pennsyvanians are bitter that their jobs have all gone away-- a statement that is completely true. If Clinton made such a comment she would not have to worry about being forced out of the race.
Also, if you think the media is so biased against Clinton in the primary, what makes you think things would be any different if she were to go up against the Republican media darling, John McCain?
